Key Information
Mabe Community Primary School was opened in 1986, located in the heart of the rural village of Mabe, steeped in granite quarrying history. We have views across the Carrick Roads, overlooking Penryn and Falmouth.
The school was extended in 2017 with the addition of a nursery unit to accommodate children from 3 years old, then again in 2018 to introduce an additional two classrooms to cater for the growing number of families in the village.
We have two playgrounds and a separate EYFS garden and year round access to the large community field during school hours. In 2022 we developed our forest school area, enhancing outdoor learning and life skills in our curriculum.
Children at our school benefit from access to local sporting facilities including Granite Planet climbing centre, Helford River Sailing School, local Swimming lessons as well as in school sessions from Penryn Sports College, Penryn Gymnastics, Zumba, Cornwall Pirates rugby and Plymouth Argyle football.
We have strong links with the local community, including the University Campus at Tremough, the Mabe Youth and Community Project (with whom we share ownership of the community field) and Mabe Parish Council.
