Daily Phonics
 
It is really important to keep practising! Please see the schedule for Ruth Miskins Read Write Inc daily lessons below.
 
Remember when reading books, if you come across a word that you are finding difficult, look for the "Special Friends", "Fred Talk" and then say the word.
 
If you are having problems writing down words, use "Fred Fingers" to help you spell.
PE - Don't forget to join Joe Wicks an his exercise regime on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9.00 am live, or join in with the recorded session.
Rapid Recall
 
Rapid Recall is a quick fire, timed activity that we do before our main maths lesson. It is so that children build up their speed in recalling their number facts.

This week we will be starting our new Talk for Writing Unit - Meerkat Mail.
 
As usual before we start a unit of work we do a "Cold Task". Today I would like you to write about "My Perfect Place". No support should be given, except the use of a high frequency word mat that is available in the Bespoke Learning Area, should you need help spelling some of the red words and high frequency words.

Handwriting
 

When practicing your handwriting, make sure you are holding the pencil properly with a “frog legs grip”, the pencil should be held with your thumb and first (index) finger, the other fingers should be tucked up underneath.

Make sure that you are sitting comfortably, with your feet flat on the floor and make sure that your table and work are a good height, use a cushion to lift you up a little if you need to.

Maths - Number: Addition and Subtraction
 
This week we are going to start with Subtraction - Crossing the 10 (1) Follow the link below and then complete the worksheet.

The Lost Son
 

We are going to be learning about one of the parables that Jesus told. But what is a parable?

Parables were special stories that Jesus used to teach people about what God wanted, to help

people understand.

 

One of these parables was the story of the Lost Son from Luke, Luke is a book in the bible.

Computing - Digital literacy
 
This week I would like you to have a look at "What is the Internet?" on the BBC website at the following link.  Please as always to remember, if you see anything that upsets you or you click on something you should not have, please ask your adult to sort it out/report it.

Today we are going to be looking at the human body and labelling body parts. Please have a look at the presentation and complete the learning activity. If you have an old roll of wall paper or a big sheet of paper, get someone to draw around you and then you can label your own bodyparts.

Last week we looked at the conjunction "or", this week will be exploring the use of another - but, it is used to join  two parts of a sentence together. Have a look at the following presentation and then complete the worksheets. The first worksheet on page 2 is the easiest  (with E in the star), I would hope that most of you will complete the second worksheet (with D in the star) and some of you might like to challenge yourselves by completing the 3rd worksheet (with GD in the start)
