Puffins Week 2: 11th Jan '21
We are already into our second week of lockdown however don't panic if you haven't completed all of last weeks activities as they will all still be available to you. Thank you to those of you who have shared work on dojo already. I really love seeing the children's work and I will be giving regular feedback.
In maths we will be following on from last week and moving on to written methods for long multiplication. This is a little tricky but don't worry as we will go through this step by step. Keep using TT Rock Stars as this will be really useful when learning multiplication & division written methods.
English this week will be focusing on using our new vocabulary correctly of the words you researched last week and exploring our model text for our Talk for Writing unit which will be based on the story of 'The Highwayman'. As part of our guided reading, we will also be exploring the actual poem 'The Highwayman' by Alfred Noyes looking at the 'old' vocabulary that used to be used at the time.
In our topic we will be looking into crimes and punishments of the Romans and creating our own storyboard of a typical Roman crime. As part of our science topic, we will be looking at
As always, there is no expectation to complete all the activities for the week. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PRINT MOST OF THE ACTIVITIES. For the majority of the time in Puffins, children will often complete activities directly on to paper so we would like them to do the same at home. Once activities are completed, please could you upload them to your online Dojo portfolio.
Above all else, please make sure you are reading daily with your child. If you don't have access to a range of reading materials, we have a class login for Oxford Owl which offers a range of ebooks for all ages and levels. Please click on the link below and enter the password.

Stay safe,
Mrs Fisher
